One day I was working as a product designer. The next I was running the day-to-day at a 25-year-old company with 250+ customers and three people holding it together.
Most of what kept the business running was locked in the founder's head. So I started doing what I could: documenting what he knows, and then building an AI system that could answer for him when he wasn't available.
That taught me something. AI is immature, imperfect, and badly oversold. But it does work for a business when you start with the problem rather than the capability — and there's a way to do that without it turning into another expensive subscription that never pays for itself.
So now I help other businesses do exactly that.
Most AI advice, most AI products, and most of what gets funded in this space is built for companies with a Series A behind them — where burning through a token budget chasing "maybe" is a rounding error, not a wound. That's not the business you're running, and it's not who I build for.
As a matter of fact, when I hear most AI advice, I think: y'all are crazy. I'm way too Nigerian for this.
As a Nigerian, I'm allergic to that model of spending too much on a maybe. I'd rather spend on something that actually delivers than spend money on something that "might" deliver. And if you feel the same, then Mavrikon is for you.
At Mavrikon, we start from the problem your business actually has, not from what a model can theoretically do. And if it doesn't make good business sense to invest time and effort into building out an idea, we don't proceed with the build. If a problem doesn't require AI, we're upfront about that and don't build an AI tool just to build an AI tool.
I wasn't aiming to be the best doctor, or the best designer, or the best engineer. The one thing I've always aimed to be best at is staying with a problem until it's actually solved. And this problem is one I can't let go of.
